PROFILE

CRISTINA M. GÁMEZ-FERNÁNDEZ is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English and German at the University of Córdoba and a member of the research group HUM-676. She has taught, on one hand, culture and literature written in English and, on the other, English for academic and professional purposes both for undergraduates and postgraduates. From 2006 to 2011 she was responsible for the teaching innovation project devoted to the progressive implementation of bilingual experiences in the UCO, prior to the creation of the official bilingual project. In 2009, she was awarded by Leocadio Martín Mingorance prize, given by the University of Córdoba, for her work on the religious poetry of Denise Levertov. She has spent research periods at Stanford University and Wheaton College (US) and Trinity College Dublin (Ireland). She was one of the Founders of AEEII (Spanish Association for India Studies), as well as of Challenging Precarity: A Global Network, to which she currently serves as Membership Secretary. She is participating in two regional research projects devoted to vulnerability in literature and culture, as well as two KA2 projects devoted to intercultural and language learning. She is currently working on several publishing projects with Routledge and Peter Lang. She has co-edited From Emotion to Knowledge: Emerging Ecosystems in Language Learning (UCO Press, 2021) and Bridging the Language Gap: Pluriliteracies, Creativity and Inclusion (UCO Press, 2021).
