PROFILE

LEONOR MARÍA MARTÍNEZ SERRANO is a Lecturer in the Department of English and German Philology at the University of Córdoba (Spain), where she gained a PhD in Canadian Literature. She teaches at undergraduate and postgraduate level, teaching prospective EFL Secondary School teachers in the Master’s Degree in Teacher Education and a course on CLIL as part of the Master’s Degree in “Advanced English Studies (Cognitive Linguistics and Literature) and Bilingual Education” at the University of Córdoba too. She is a member of the research group “Research of English and Related Literature” (HUM-682) and her research interests include CLIL, bilingual education, Canadian Literature, American Literature, High Modernism, Ecocriticism, and Comparative Literature. She has been a Visiting Scholar at the University of Toronto and the University of British Columbia (Canada), the University of the West of Scotland (UK), the University of Bialystok (Poland) and the University of Oldenburg (Germany). She has presented papers at international conferences, contributed chapters to a number of books, and published articles on her research interests in scholarly journals. A member of the research project BESOC (EDU2017-84800R), funded by the Spanish Ministry of Industry, Economy and Competitivity, she is currently involved in two Erasmus+ projects: Teachers, Culture, Pluri (TEACUP)” (2019-1-ES01-KA203-064412) and “QuILL (Quality in Language Teaching)"
(2020-1-PT01-KA226-HE-094809). She has co-edited Bridging the Language Gap: Pluriliteracies, Creativity and Inclusion (UCO Press, 2021) and From Emotion to Knowledge: Emerging Ecosystems in Language Learning (UCOPress, 2021).
