PROFILE
Laura Balbiani is Associate Professor of German language and linguistics at the Università della Valle d’Aosta. She studied in Milan and Heidelberg, got her PhD in Language Sciences and Philology, working on scientific literature in the Early Modern Age and received 2001 the international award “Luigi De Franco” for the best doctoral dissertation.
She wrote several scientific publications in the fields of historical and comparative linguistics, German for Special Purposes, Cultural Studies and works also as a translator from German into Italian in the field of literature (Goethe, Hesse, Hauptmann, Hölderlin) and philosophy (Kant, Spalding).
