PROFILE
Filipa Perdigão Ribeiro is a Senior Lecturer at University of the Algarve, School of Management, Tourism and Hospitality (Portugal). She holds a PhD in Applied Linguistics, Lancaster University (UK). She was co-editor-in-chief of Dos Algarves – A Multidisciplinary e-Journal (2006-2016), having co-edited a special issue on Languages, Literature and Tourism (2014). She was also co- editor-in-chief of the European Journal of Tourism, Hospitality and Recreation (2018-2020). Her current research interests focus on academic writing and on links between language(s), discourse and tourism in their multiple facets. She has published several papers and book chapters on national identity, on sense of place amongst tourists, language and migration, discourses and tourism. She is one of the coordinators of the University of Algarve Language Centre (CL-UAlg). She regularly reviews papers for several journals and scientific meetings and is a researcher in CiTUR –Centre for Tourism Research, Development and Innovation (Portugal).
