TECH-DICT.PL is a Polish-English / English-Polish Dictionary of technical terms. The database contains almost 259,000 unique phrases and is constantly expanded. There students can find terms from various fields of science:
- IT,
- medicine,
- military,
- mechanics,
- agriculture,
- business language,
- biology and chemistry.
The electronic dictionary also offers the pronunciation of terms in English and Polish.
The electronic dictionary is not only limited to technical terms but also contains a rich fund of basic vocabulary and colloquial expressions.
It is an accessible working tool that allows direct searching of terms and phrases in specialist fields.
However, the dictionary should be used with certain reservations, as it is not the result of specialised lexicographical research.
It can be recommended for checking short texts of medium difficulty.

This resource is helpful for students in IT, business, biology, medicine, chemistry, agriculture, but not very extended. Students may use this online dictionary to check some specific terms and collocations rapidly, to verify emails or other short texts. Technically, this resource is easy to use. Lecturers and students can easily access the link.
The dictionary should be used in conjunction with a specialist text and by checking specific terms and in PWN online dictionaries.
So, for each lesson, the teacher also suggests a text fragment (e.g. from a blog or an article). From a teaching point of view, the most important objective is that students get used to checking multiple specialised terms and can correctly identify the registers of the language.
