This teaching source provides a series of activities based on the use of texts and an audio file embedded in the website. In addition to that, it provides a great number of interactive vocabulary activities plus the script. Some of these make use of multiple choice, true/false and matching activities. An additional video and complementary vocabulary activities are also provided for further practice.
Though this teaching resource does not explicitly cover all five skills defined by the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR, 2018)—i.e., reading, speaking, writing, listening and mediation—it displays a bit potential for an integrated approach to all of them, so as to facilitate a harmonious development of students’ language competence.

Case study

What follows is a series of methodological guidelines as to how this resource could be used in real classroom setting, ranging from face-to-face tuition, through blended learning to virtual scenarios. This teaching resource would be implemented as a part of a much more comprehensive teaching unit. The target group should be no larger than forty-five higher education students attending a specialization course aimed at improving not only their Language for Specific Purposes skills—though this is the main target group—but also at enhancing their general language competences on the subject of this teaching resource. The advised approach to implement this teaching resource is largely communicative and learner-centered and the most appropriate methodology is eclectic, active including cooperative learning, project-based learning and flipped classroom.

This course material is presented in video format for both formal instruction and self-study. The activities proposed can be used flexibly to suit students' needs. Students and lecturers should follow the pedagogical guidelines on the website, where the video is accompanied by an assorted compendium of activities, including self-assessment activities and further practice, that can be found to consolidate learning.

This teaching resource suits the needs of beginners and intermediate students who study Spanish for tourism. They need to develop their listening skills at the same time they need to expand technical related vocabulary and do so in a playful way. This resource assists both lecturers, as they can use this with their students in the classroom, or students who, rather autonomously, can also explore it. It also provides an opportunity for testing acquired knowledge. The adaptability of this teaching resource is very high due to the wide range of pedagogical possibilities that it offers. In addition, its technical usability and accessibility for both lecturers and students can be said to be flexible enough for different learning scenarios. As a result, the motivation and enhancement and the comprehension of this teaching resourced is assessed by these evaluators as highly suitable for the target groups in the context of Language for Specific Purposes. Therefore, this resource shows a high potential for language learning objectives, both as specific and as general Spanish. Teachers are expected to adapt this resource to best suit the specific needs of their students.
