PROFILE
Rafael Zafra Leva (Córdoba 6/February/1978) is a researcher within the group AGR-133. He obtained his degree in Veterinary Science in 2001. In 2002, he obtained a research fellowship granted by the Junta de Andalucía to undertake his doctoral thesis on immune response in goats against Fasciola hepatica, unanimously rated with outstanding “cum laude” and with European mention. During these years, Dr. Zafra has written 53 scientific publications indexed and more than 180 scientific contributions to meetings. In 2011, he held a post-doctoral fellowship (Juan de la Cierva Subprogramme supported by the Spanish Government) at the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. Later, in 2015 he obtained a post-doctoral contract at the University of Córdoba where he was chosen among the 15 best academic curricula of the university. He has made research stays in CISA-INIA (Valdeolmos, Madrid), University College Dublin (Dublin) and Moredun Research Institute (Edinburgh, UK), where he studied immune response against Fasciola hepatica. Since 2016 he teaches Parasitology and Parasitic Diseases in the Veterinary Faculty.
