Description

This free clearly well-organised, user-friendly dynamic source is organized under several chapters: Bulgarian Alphabet, Vocabulary, Phrases, Grammar, Flashcards, Quizz, Letters, Letters. Source gathers some survival material organized under general topics.
Videos are private.
A plus is the fact that all lessons are downloadable. Lessons come with English comments/translation, which make source mostly usable both for self-study and in class.
Source gives a necessary amount of audio material on standard conversation topics in general Bulgarian and more.

2. Source was tested at the SW University in Blagoevgrad.
This language course is one of the free-access resources which present the fundamentals of grammar, vocabulary and a dictionary. It has audio materials on some topics; these are downloadable and available without the internet link. Materials are appropriate for self study and trainging while practicing listening comprehension and pronunciation and can be used both in audio and in audio-video mode. They do not involve preliminary knowledge of language and this is why each word comes with an English translation and transliteration into Latin script. It also includes interesting language games for practicing vocabulary and writing the words in Cyrillic. In the left-side column of this site one can find a good systematic list of some grammatical and lexical topics, which makes this resource more user-friendly. This teaching source could be useful both for the teachers (mostly in the section devoted to language games) and for the indepenedent learners, as an additional material to other resources. Teaching source is can be used for levels A1 and A2. The site also gives some useful practical advice and guidance in language learning, which makes it appropiate for independent study.

Guidelines

Source can be used as a start in building up motivation by usig source''s strong point (which is vocabulary practice) and preferably in combination with other sources. (Lecturer may ignore the less systematic presentation of grammar and teach communicative grammar by using other sources).
Beginners:
1. Lecturer announces Lesson on Bulgarian basics by flashcard game.
2. Lecturer explains the way flashcards can be used. Lecturer encourages students to practicing vocabulary (120 items) introduced 'Bulgarian basics in one lesson.'
Vocabulary check by flash cards. Vocabulary trainer for words, phrases, grammar.(120, 50)
3. Students are invited to do pair work in Bulgarian only.
4. Students can expand the work with flashcard and combine it with writing.
More advanced students might be stimulated to navigate guided conversation on topics chosen.
