Description

The collection of tasks, exercises, and games, available both in audio recordings and in the textbook “Riga Detective”, is supplemented with interactive tasks. Each story is designed as a separate episode that needs to be solved.
The exercises practice the ability to perceive and understand the text as a whole, to listen to different forms of words and use them correctly, as well as to develop an understanding of the meanings of words, skills of using synonyms and antonyms, and correct word choice.
Tasks and exercises are arranged according to the 20 events of "Riga Detective", each of which has 3 parts - a total of 60 lessons. Part 1 summarizes the exercises related to the first 10 events, i.e., 30 lessons.

The textbook was published in 2000, additional materials in 2002.
Open access material for strengthening language skills. Downloadable pdf format, MPS audio files.
Can be used as a basic course. Suitable for adults, especially those studying law, because the course is designed as a detective story, and learners have to solve a legal problem.

Case study

Has not been tried out with students.

Guidelines

The study course consists of both a textbook and additional detective stories and audio recordings. It is recommended to use the whole set. Russian language skills will help learners complete the tasks, as there are tasks where they have to translate from Russian into Latvian.

Comments:
A suitable course for students studying law. Disadvantage - the course is not interactive, but there is a pdf file that must be downloaded, printed and then the answers can be written in the spaces provided. The answers are given at the end of the chapter.
